Drake University is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment in which all members of our community can thrive and reach their full potential. As a part of this commitment, Drake believes it is important that we take a comprehensive approach to violence prevention.
The Prevention Office commits to creating innovative and inclusive programming aimed at ending sexual and interpersonal misconduct at Drake. The Prevention Office is dedicated to being a resource for current, solution focused education to assist students, staff and faculty in understanding the origins, recognizing the signs and developing the skills to respond to sexual and interpersonal misconduct.
We firmly stand with Define the Line-Respect the Line and will give direct attention in our programing to prevention, communication, intervention, and support. The Prevention Office will use the voice of the student body and professionals on and off campus to help direct programming. The Prevention Office is committed to meeting students where they are in their emotional and social development to promote self-efficacy. The topics of sexual and interpersonal violence are community issues, and the Prevention Office will remain dedicated to educating the campus from many different perspectives.
